Transformers Action Figures
It’s very unusual for children’s toys to remain popular over an extended period. But this is a case with Transformers action figures they first became popular back in the 1980s. Following the recent Transformers films using new computer-generated imagery entirely new generation of Transformers enthusiasts has been created.
This has led to a phenomenal demand for Transformers action figures. Even though the children of the 80s now have families of their own the attraction of Transformers remains for both them and their children.
It is quite amazing how much generation one transformer figures cost today, they have turned into a fantastic investment. A toy that could have been bought for 20 or $30 in the 80s can now command a price of $60-$100. Really rare Transformers can go for a lot more that. This is particularly true for such figures as Optimus prime and similar figures.
The manufacturers Hasbro have brought out several different versions of the Optimus Prime figure over the last few years.
Of course for every good guy there has to be a baddie and in the case of Transformers they have turned out to be equally as popular as the good guys. Perhaps the best-known is the leader of the Decepticons, Magatron, the sworn enemy of the Autobots and Optimus Prime. A Magnetron toy which is in good condition can command the same price as any type of Optimus Prime model.
As a result of the recent transformer films there has been a whole new generation of Transformer toys and gadgets for today’s kids. One of the bigger attractions of Transformers is the ability to mix some of them and create even more complex Transformers.
Perhaps the best known example of this is the super robot called Devastator which can be made from the Constructicons. But this is not a new idea. Many people will remember the Dinobots, from the 1980s, they were Autobot that have the shape and characteristics of dinosaurs, there are still very popular with children today. A Dinobot leader figure called Grimlock, will sell the just as much as either Optimus Prime and Magnetron.
